ਸੁੱਖ-ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਬੰਧ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੀ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟ, ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਇੰਝ ਕਹੀਏ ਕਿ ਸੁੱਖ-ਦੁੱਖ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਔਰਤ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਮਰਦ, ਅਮੀਰ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂ ਗਰੀਬ, ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂ ਗੋਰਾ, ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ, ਪੜਿਆ-ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂ ਅਨਪੜ, ਪਰ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਸਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੋ-ਜਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਿਸੀ ਦੇ ਘੱਟ,ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ । ਕਿਸੀ ਨੇ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ, ਕੋਈ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਿਆ। ਐਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਮਹਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ । ਐਸਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖੁੱਸ਼ ਹੀ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ । ਐਸਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਝੋਪੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖੁੱਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ । ਐਸਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਗਾਂ ਬਦਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਖੁੱਸ਼ੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ । ਐਸਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਖ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ।
ਜਗਾ ਬਦਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਹਤਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲੋ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਜਾਓ । ਹਾਲਾਤ ਕਿੱਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਣ ਮਨ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਨਹੀੱ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹਰ ਬੀਤੇ ਪੱਲ ਦਾ ਲੁਤਫ ਉਠਾਓ । ਜੋ ਬਤੀਤ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਸਬਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਿੱਖੋ ।ਜੋ ਹੋ ਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਲਓ । ਸੋਚੋ! ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਵੀ ਇੱਦਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੰਸੀ-ਖੁੱਸ਼ੀ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ । ਹਰ ਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਮਨਾਉੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਣਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਣ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਹੈ ।
