It’s difficult question to answer for a couple of reasons
- How would you define an international airport? Would this be only airports where regularly scheduled commercial flights operate, or would this also include smaller airfields where private jets on international flights can land? The definition will cause variations in the total number
- Bodies such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) or International Air Transport Association (IATA) assign codes to airports. However, there is no way to distinguish between airports offering international and domestic services
- An airport can easily start or stop international flights based on demand, as they only need to add/remove passport control and customs staff, making it tricky to keep tracking the status of each and every airport across the world
you can see: Wikipedia page on international airports says that there are 1,200 international airports worldwide record 2016.
